Queer Book Readings | Sept 21st 7 pm - 10pm

To help kick off the Folsom Weekend, Unbound Edition Press hosts a night of queer/kink literature at MikroBlack, which is kindly supporting the event. Each featured author will be reading selections from their work, will partake in a Q&A session at the end of the readings, and will be available for a book signing and meet and greet.

About the authors: Janet W. Hardy is the author or coauthor of more than a dozen groundbreaking books about relationships and sexuality, including The Ethical Slut, which has sold more than 500,000 copies to date and has been translated into more than a dozen languages. Hardy will read from Notes of an Aging Pervert, a concise collection of spirited essays and joyful illustrations that is often funny, occasionally sad, and sometimes mind-bending. Who among us can actually imagine an existence outside time, space, and the body? Margaret Cho calls the books "A meaningful, beautiful, and necessary book … frank and profound. I loved it."

Stephan Ferris (aka Blue Bailey) is a queer legal scholar, activist attorney and author of the bestselling LGBTQ+/addiction recovery memoir Blue Movie: Scenes From the Life of a Sexual Outlaw (Unbound Edition Pres, 2022). Ferris will be reading a selection from Blue Movie, which is "a horror show come to life...one written and cast from the darkest corners of the Internet." Race Bannon, author and community leader, says "[Blue Movie] is a rare one. In fact, it is raw in every way... and will no disappoint. Truly riveting."
